In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? It has really encouraged them to take their littel garden home and continue to plant. I also tried getting a matching recipe for the plant that they took home.

How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? This helped with children that do not have a range of veges in their cultures, Esol children etc.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? We took our learning practically out into the school grounds and we also did some cooking with vegetables.

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? It improved awareness of healthy eating at brain food time. Children were also having conversations with parents and care givers.

How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? The children learnt the names of vegetables in English and Te Reo and also prompted conversations about healthy eating and brain food.

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Yes the teina have been proud to contribute veges to our Friday school lunches, so happily eat them.

How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? They loved vege patch match but were more focussed on the "characters" than the veges. I think it will help their recognition though.

“The teina classroom at Pūrākaunui School enjoyed their experiences with Little Garden League. We had lots of fun and lots of discovery and our school garden is now chocka with developing seedlings which we hope to have time to eat before school is out; or we can come by over summer for a graze!”

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? The children started to identify the vegetables they have in there 'free' lunches to the ones they were growing, We discussed different ways of using them to prepare a lunch or dinner.

How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? It helped students with the identification of vegetables. The made plastic drink bottles into their next planter too take them home.

“An excellent resource to encourage children to grow and eat vegetables. The interest in the different types of plants made it interesting and fun. The plastic plant holders they made for once the plant was bigger was part of our sustainable Inquiry unit, this motivated the students to grow their plants. They were excited to take them home and create a garden.”

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? It makes children not only more aware but more keen to eat healthy, I had children bringing in sandwiches with lettuce they had grown when they otherwise wouldn't put vegetables on their sandwiches.

How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? It had a big impact because it was authentic, the children learnt about the vegetbales because they were growing them
