What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? We managed to bring in some maths around measurement of the plants as they grew. We did instructions writing and diary writing. We brought in key competencies of self management, participation and contributing when working on our plants.

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? Children learn far better when the have a hands on activity and there is far greater buy-in to the message being promoted.
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? The children enjoyed seeing the different leaves that grew before the vegetables appeared. It also encouraged children to try different vegetables 9some we brought in ahead of time)
Thank you for this fabulous set. The children were thrilled to see their efforts turn into plants. They learnt so much along the way about how to plant and nurture to get a result. it was a good way to approach the idea of healthy eating and what great food groups are.

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? It led to lots of good (and at times, robust) conversations about healthy eating and different opinions around what is healthy.
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? The kids thought they knew lots about veges but still ended up learning more.
We had a great time with the kit. The kids thoroughly enjoyed exploring the kit, playing the games, and of course planting!

What a great way for our kids to engage with growing their own vegetables - seeing them from seed to plantling in the garden

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? We looked at the growing processes, wrote stories about the characters, looked at nutrition, gardening with garden to table. Looked up Te reo names for the foods we had.

The class as a whole had a pretty good understanding of healthy eating and often include a few different fruits or vegetables in their daily lunchboxes. How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? All the children were familiar with the vegetables but not all of the children had tried some of them.
The children really enjoyed filling out the application form to join the little Garden League club. They came up with some truely funny vegtable/fruit jokes and enjoyed sharing them with their peers. It was exciting to see the little plants grow and it really generated discussion about different foods, what they need to grow and what recipes could be used for reluctant veggie eaters.

We had so much fun with the Little Garden League in our year 2 class. The students were so excited and proud to be a part of the club. It was amazing to have all the resources so easily provided.

The children were very engaged and enjoyed the kit. The teacher was super excited about the resource being ready to use and available to be used straight away. We enjoyed seeing the quick results.

What cross curricular learning came about as a result of this kit? music mindfulness form playlist and engaged with listening to find certain vegetables, maths- graph to chart plant growth, writing - wrote about what we thought the plants would do.

In what ways has this kit improved student awareness of nutrition and healthy eating? We haven't quite got to that part yet, but we do plan on investigating nutritional values of each of the vegetables when they are grown more.
How successful was this kit in promoting student ability to identify vegetables? Fun names made remembering the plants more interesting and we can remember then a little bit better.
We loved learning how to take care of plants. It was a great chance for us to be able to look after plants and know what they need to stay healthy. We haven't yet been able to eat any of our produce, but we are excited to do so. The badges were really cool. We had fun folding up the submission letters.
