How has this kit motivated you to explore the history or your local area? Could you use this model? The model was great and we really benefited from the model and exploring our local history around Jack Lovelock as Timaru Boys high is right next door to us.

How has this kit motivated you to explore the history or your local area? Could you use this model? A lot! I think it's quite necessary to teach some background general history knowledge of the time period before diving into a story.

How has this kit motivated you to explore the history or your local area? Could you use this model? The resources - stories, postcards and artefacts were great to use to focus the students and it became more interesting as we researched further. I would definitely use this model again.

I feel a lot more confident to use this model to now look at areas that my students iwi or whānau are from. Thank you!

“A kit with a lot of learning opportunities and I found it really helpful that you could take the resources and build on and adapt them for the student's learning. I did find that it took a while to get my head around it at the start, figuring it out before teaching. But once I did the first one I was better prepared for the next one and the students were able to research their own after we had gone through a couple as a class.”

“Wow....this is possibly my favourite of all Kits we've taken part in over the years. The detail and depth has kept my class so engaged that we have a lot left to do. They were fascinated that our nearby little town of Milton featured in one of the items! We barely feature on a map let alone have this opportunity !!! We are going to continue using this kit for the remainder of the year so we can delve further into it. We started doing one as a whole class - exploring all the levels (great for differentiated learning) and moving toward more independent exploration in Term 4, then present to our whole school as an assembly item! Thanks so much for the work on this one - it is amazing, engaging and a fantastic learning experience (even for this old teacher!!!)”
