How has this kit motivated you to explore the history or your local area? Could you use this model? This kit has inspired us and we are starting next year on our teacher only days with exploring our local area and really understanding the stories that relate to it.

How has this kit impacted your confidence in delivering the new Aotearoa NZ's histories curriculum content? This has definately helped with my confidence and it will continue to help with it as we continue to use it next year.

“We are loving this kit - we haven't been able to fully use it to it's potential this time around but will most defiantely be continuing to use it next year to further explore the ANZ Histories and link it more with our local area. An amazing resource.”

How has this kit motivated you to explore the history or your local area? Could you use this model? We definitely want to do something similar with our local rohe. It was empowering to see how your kit delivered multimedia interactions and lessons. This model scaffolds a great base for us to do our own here.

How has this kit impacted your confidence in delivering the new Aotearoa NZ's histories curriculum content? This kit enables true, multi perspective voices to our history. It is so relevant and encompassing. Ngā mihi nui for the huge amount of mahi that has gone into this kit!

“Due to the business of our terms I have not fully utilised ANZH: Something Happened Here 22. This Kit did take a lot of unpacking. Students did enjoy learning about the parts we unpacked and did together. I will be doing this kit again next year.”

How has this kit motivated you to explore the history or your local area? Could you use this model? Looking into our local history has been on-going. The use of a pepeha as a provocation is interesting.

How has this kit impacted your confidence in delivering the new Aotearoa NZ's histories curriculum content? I have learnt a lot more in-depth detail which allows me to deliver with more confidence. Although my knowledge was not low - it feels now like it was very rudimentary and so the kit has been extremely beneficial.

“It is a very information-dense unit. We found the skills particularly useful - reading an historical photo was enlightening and useful for our students. This revealed that many were lacking general knowledge to cope with the level of the kit. We adjusted our plan accordingly and took things quite slowly. Students used the Immersive Reader extension heavily. We are still using the kit in Term 4. The artifacts can be used in many ways and we look forward to exploring other ideas next year. The density of information, did mean that our intention to have our students work independently never happened - this was also partly due to time-pressures to be fair and our desire to do justice to each story we covered.”

How has this kit impacted your confidence in delivering the new Aotearoa NZ's histories curriculum content? It has improved it greatly although, as with all resources I have had to adapt for our students as for many of our 7/8s a lot was a bit beyond their current skill level and understnading

“The kit was jam packed with resources and so it enabled me to ensure the students had enough information to"hook"them in. I had a couple of parents come in and talk to me as their children were coming home and showing their learning about our area that the parents didn't know about. It was great.”
