How has this kit motivated you to explore the history or your local area? Could you use this model? I will use this model and I wish every class in my school had these resources. We have already engaged in some PD that was available before and we decided to do. I know that this resource will continue to help me and others in the delivery of the ANZH

How has this kit impacted your confidence in delivering the new Aotearoa NZ's histories curriculum content? I feel like I can start. I feel like I will be able to follow a pattern of learning for my tauira that will help them discover more about the place they belong to.

I'm not from my local area and I have always felt inadequate about sharing stories that aren't mine. It was reassuring to know that our rohe had been consulted. I felt like I was given permission to speak about them.

How has this kit motivated you to explore the history or your local area? Could you use this model? We used the model from the kit and then looked at our own stories. Students were excited to ask family members for their stories. We also applied our stories to other curriculum areas such as art and created huge murals around the classroom.

“An excellent kit to learn about NZ history. Included good use of Te Reo with pepeha and the children improved their geography. The extra resources that matched up to the postcards make the activities more interesting. I enjoyed learning alongside the children about NZ history-a fantastic reading resource!”

How has this kit impacted your confidence in delivering the new Aotearoa NZ's histories curriculum content? Feel it didn't have too much of an impact. This kit could be really good but the expectations for what children need to do are way too high. BEtter levelling needs to happen.

“Was very complex and quite deep- even for children working at Level 3. Even as a teacher I had to really understand some of the concepts! Also- ALOT of the links didn't download onto the chromebooks which made it even more trickier. I liked the tangible resources that were sent out.”
