How has this kit motivated you to explore the history or your local area? Could you use this model? It's been a great catalyst for students to tell their own stories and histories. And for us to begin to explore the stories of our local community.

“This kit was fantastic and really engaged the Year 5 and 6 learners. It complemented the trip they took to the Museum so well. The items really brought out critical thinking and discussion! Will be reusing again and again!”

What was the impact of knowing the stories in this kit were developed in collaboration with their iwi/whānau/community? It's been extremely valuable knowing there were input from the iwi and community. It's reassuring knowing that it's not stories based on someone's opinion. Holds more weight for myself as well as my students.

“The kit is amazing with so many interesting artifacts to explore. Our Year 5 class did find navigating the tasks, archives and downloads a bit tricky at times as there was a lot to read. We created slideshows which included the information and downloads to make things easier for the students to use. This is a resource that will be used for many years.”
