How has this kit impacted your confidence in delivering the new Aotearoa NZ's histories curriculum content? This was a kit that created a start for exploring these stories more. I feel empowered to start with this information and build on it to continue to grow my knowledge of our varied history and my confidence in teaching it as a part of our curriculum.

How has this kit motivated you to explore the history or your local area? Could you use this model? I intend to continue to use this kits skills and add stories to it form my own area as my class and I continue to explore our local areas stories.

“This kit provided a platform for my learners to start their journey exploring stories of our area and others around the country. The high quality stories and tokens/artefacts provided interesting talking points and a visual and tactile aspect to the learning which made exploring the timelines and stories interesting and varied.”

“I really enjoyed using this kit and it was a great support to my teaching and also boosted my knowledge and brought in aspects I hadn't considered. The children loved the resources and were excited to work out what they meant and discover more detail about them online. They sparked great discussions and debates in class. The only disappointment with the kit was that it arrived well after expected and a few of the pages were not available when I was covering them in class, so the kit was only half as useful as it could have been, due to timing. I am looking forward to next year when I can do this again and will have the resources all ready to go.”

“The visuals and the other resources were beautifully received by my students. It enhanced their understanding and made them think about how things and the tough times may have affected the Maori and the early settlers. The Power of the guns may have been extremely visible and suffered by the indigenous people in those days.”
