How has this kit motivated you to explore the history or your local area? Could you use this model? A lot. Not just motivated me, but the children too. They are really keen to make connections and links to our local area history.

“This program was well documented and was used in a composite class Years 6-8. The engagement, mind you a small class, was well received and participation by tauira was rewarding as questioning techniques using the six thinking hats gave depth to the learning. We have one more set of books to do and this will be completed Term 3. Learning about the trials of our tupuna and the obstacles faced gave credence to a lot of purakau and kaupapa for our tamariki.”

How has this kit impacted your confidence in delivering the new Aotearoa NZ's histories curriculum content? It was really helpful, thank you. I love the way it covers lots of different aspects of NZ History.

How has this kit motivated you to explore the history or your local area? Could you use this model? Yes, we actually learnt about the history of our local area in 2021, so it was great to see stories about other areas. Yes, I could use this model and intend to keep using the kit in the future.

“What an amazing kit! My class of year 6 and 7 students really enjoyed the story that we covered - I thought we would do more, but they were really interested and one story took us about 3 weeks! I am looking forward to doing some more next term as part of our independent reading activities - now that we know how to use the website it will be great! It was worth taking the time and really following the instructions for how to use the website, I feel that the students could easily use it without me next time.”
