How have the components within the kit helped develop your students understanding of what a respectful relationship is? There are good indicators to refer back to when social disagreements etc occur.
“This was a great kit to assist with building a positive classroom environment and help the children expand their friendship circles in a kind, caring and unintrusive way. The students loved the little booklets and their own stickers. The additional resources of the videos, books and text helped support the learning. Fantastic resource with a variety of ideas/resources.”

How has the kit helped to develop prosocial behaviours? We loved the playing with people we wouldn’t normally play with and how to ask someone to play with you. We also learnt how to be understanding when someone wanted to change the rules or negotiate changing them.
How have the components within the kit influenced the relationships in your classroom community? Promotes calmness and thoughtfulness for others. Helped children notice the feelings of others through expression, body language and words.

“I haven't used the kit because of covid and it didn't fit into any of my curriculum areas. It would have been perfect at the beginning of the year. I intend to use this kit in term 1 of 2021.”

How have the components within the kit influenced the relationships in your classroom community? The kids were keen to collect different stickers. This meant that they chose to hang out with different kids. Often they came back laughing about things they had in common.

How have the components within the kit helped develop your students understanding of what a respectful relationship is? This has been ongoing into Term 3. The stories and concepts are easy to understand. Being able to 'charge the battery' has meant that all children have the opportunity to hear and see different examples of respect.
“Great kit once I got started. I found it a bit hard to find my flow but I think that was more about me than the kids. They loved the recharge station and noticing how they were feeling and being able to communicate it to others. We will continue some of the practices and language we have learnt throughout the rest of the year. I think I will do a better job teaching it a second time (new class next year) as I will have my understanding better and be able to delve into a deeper understanding. Thanks for all you do ! I love the kits”

How has the kit helped to develop prosocial behaviours? It has provided some useful tool for my students when reflecting on what it means to be a friend and in expanding their friendship circles.
How have the components within the kit influenced the relationships in your classroom community? The playground audit was a great activity that my class really enjoyed participating in. It made them think deeper about who they were interacting with and inclusive play.

How have the components within the kit helped develop your students understanding of what a respectful relationship is? The kids enjoyed charging their battery and using it as visual self-reflection tool to check in with themselves
“This was a useful kit to be using post Lockdowns. The children have worked on describing their feelings and what they and others can do to help the person when they are 'in the red'. The moment using this kit that melted my heart was when a child rushed over with the charging mat when they heard my frustration when things were not going my way.”

How have the components within the kit helped develop your students understanding of what a respectful relationship is? The battery metaphor was excellent to develop this understanding and the kids were very excited to do the playground books each day.
“The items in the kit were of a high standard and great quality. They provided a number of ways to deliver the message of respectful relationships. The children particularly enjoyed the questions. It was great to hear their opinions and justifying their answers. To be honest I don’t think I used the kit to it’s full potential due to Lockdown. It did support our school values and the Kiwi Can programme. I will continue to use the items in the kit to maintain a respectful classroom.”
