How have the components within the kit helped develop your students understanding of what a respectful relationship is? We have alot of year 2's so the discussions were very receptive. The stories and video's worked very well and are quite an important tool for us as Yr 1/2 teachers.

“Such a great kit to use with my NE/Y1 class post lockdown. Great resources that allowed us to explore re-building relationships and we were able to re-set our class culture. Great to have something that wasn't set out/prescribed and let us do our thing!”

How have the components within the kit helped develop your students understanding of what a respectful relationship is? The lunchtime buddy was a good resource. I used it as part of my maths buddy system as well

“It was good but a bit complicated for my new entrant class. So I passed it on for one of the year 3/4 teachers to use. Unfortunately the school decided to do a whole school unit so she had to put this aside. I think she is intending to use it in term four.”

How has the kit helped to develop prosocial behaviours? It has provided some useful tool for my students when reflecting on what it means to be a friend and in expanding their friendship circles.

How have the components within the kit influenced the relationships in your classroom community? The playground audit was a great activity that my class really enjoyed participating in. It made them think deeper about who they were interacting with and inclusive play.

“This was a useful kit to be using post Lockdowns. The children have worked on describing their feelings and what they and others can do to help the person when they are 'in the red'. The moment using this kit that melted my heart was when a child rushed over with the charging mat when they heard my frustration when things were not going my way.”

“This was a great kit to assist with building a positive classroom environment and help the children expand their friendship circles in a kind, caring and unintrusive way. The students loved the little booklets and their own stickers. The additional resources of the videos, books and text helped support the learning. Fantastic resource with a variety of ideas/resources.”

How have the components within the kit influenced the relationships in your classroom community? Again, the activity ideas helped to try and teach relationships in a more creative and interactive way, but because of the disruptive year it is hard to measure the actual impact

How has the kit helped to develop prosocial behaviours? We loved the playing with people we wouldn’t normally play with and how to ask someone to play with you. We also learnt how to be understanding when someone wanted to change the rules or negotiate changing them.

How have the components within the kit influenced the relationships in your classroom community? Promotes calmness and thoughtfulness for others. Helped children notice the feelings of others through expression, body language and words.
