How has the kit helped to develop prosocial behaviours? Within a NE class these skills are still largely developing, and this kit has helped build structures and routines that help engage and regulate positive behaviour.
How have the components within the kit influenced the relationships in your classroom community? At NE level it needs constant reinforcement to retain positive respectful relationships among all learners, but for the majority it has been very positive, resulting in a more fair and respectful way of treating each other.

There was lots of simple ways to convey the key messages of the kit through to younger students. Most NE arrive at school very egocentric and teaching social skills that require respect are all key parts of our learning in those firsts years of school, al
I found it difficult to know where to start with the kit as it had no clear teacher notes or direction. I think that because we used it as we came back to school after lockdown much of our focus was on our literacy and numeracy program and would have appreciated something more structured.

How has the kit helped to develop prosocial behaviours? The kit along with 'Zones of regulation' have helped the students identify positive behaviours but some still struggle to regulate these.
How have the components within the kit influenced the relationships in your classroom community? Some children have developed new friendships due to the pay lunch aspect.

This kit works well at our school because it fits well with our catholic character and religious education programme. It supports our living the ST. Pats Way- developed with PB4L. It links to the programme for the whole year.

How have the components within the kit helped develop your students understanding of what a respectful relationship is? It has supported our PB4L focus in our school, It has provided situations for discussion and role play and raised my students awareness of others in the playground.
I think this kit couldn’t have come at a better time. Our kids came back from lockdown anxious and needing support of how to interact with their peers again. Using the battery to recharge as our centre point of our whole day was perfect because as a teacher I could respond to needs quickly or the children could support their peers when batteries needed charging. I loved how this kit enhances the kindness message coming from the country, our school and kids felt like they were making a difference by being kind to each other. I liked that there was lots of room to use the kit to meet the diverse needs of children at this difficult time. Learning the breathing has continued to be used throughout both terms at school and have had messages from parents saying kids have used their breathing at home. Thanks for a great kit I’m tough times :)

Our children were getting easily frustrated with tricky learning And they all adopted the breathing. It was also a great tool for

This kit helped support the lessons that we taught at the beginning of the year. I was able to incorporate it into our PRIDE (perseverance, respect, initiative, diligence, empathy) lessons.

How have the components within the kit helped develop your students understanding of what a respectful relationship is? The students responded well to thinking about how others feel as a way of seeing things from another perspective. The online videos and stories helped my visual learners to connect and learn.
This unit was very welcome as it came at the right time for my class as we were studying our MANA school values - across the whole school, so I was able to link this into our KAUPAPA. We used stories, waiata, the bilingual key word list, and the Te Whare Tapawha.

How has the kit helped to develop prosocial behaviours? At five years of age most children are ego centric so this has been hard for some of the children. I do have a few that strived on learning to think of others instead of themselves.
How have the components within the kit influenced the relationships in your classroom community? The children are aware of their feelings and how they affect others. We are learning to be inclusive, caring and honest.

How have the components within the kit helped develop your students understanding of what a respectful relationship is? As I have new entrant children, some found things quite tricky whereas those children who have been here the longest seemed to grasp the concepts well.
This kit was great at getting children to identify how they were feeling each day. The play lunch project encouraged children to play with a wider group of friends and with children from another class that were also doing the project.

How have the components within the kit helped develop your students understanding of what a respectful relationship is? We used role playing
HI there We found the resource really helpful but found it hard to do it justice as our attendance levels were (and still are) spotty. Many kids we started on the kit lessons were often away the next day (or longer) and those who arrived had to be introduced to what they had missed. Ideally the kit would have been perfect learning to focus a class in on being respectful and forging relationships and these ideas will definitely be utilised again-especially at the start of a new year. Many thanks for all your hard work in providing these kits to us hard-working teachers.

I found this kit very useful for discussing topics around kindness, respect, inclusion, friendship, etc. I loved the variety of recommended resources, e.g. the stories and podcasts. The quality of the kit was great - the posters, etc. were very eye catching and the students loved using these.
