“We have loved this kit and it is on going. We are currently working on charging each others batteries. We are just using this as part of our class mental health focus and pull aspects out every few weeks which we focus on. there are some great ideas and activities which really engage the kids.”

“A great kit but I really felt we were hindered in using it to it's full potential with covid and 2 Lockdowns this year as class focus became more about learning in the classroom, but worked well with our mindfulness program and RICH heart focus. Was great getting the kids to develop deeper relationships with each other and with children they wouldn't necessarily choose to play with.”

Students enjoyed the play lunch project and challenging themselves to play with everyone in the class. The discussion cards made for great classroom discussions and writing topics.

“I have New Entrants and interestingly our class roll size went from 25 to 40 students during the time we used the kit. We initially started with two weeks of using the playing outside with a new friend booklets, but it was overwhelming for some of our students and they started not wanting to come to school because they only felt comfortable being with usual friends. We adapted the playground sticker books from being used outside to being used sitting in class in the mornings and greeting and sharing with someone new. The children loved this. We loved the battery and being charged up to learn and continue to use it daily in class.”

“Unfortunately lockdown has broken up the flow. The children enjoyed 'The Playlunch Project' and it encouraged them to spend time with children they wouldn't usually play with.”

How have the components within the kit helped develop your students understanding of what a respectful relationship is? It has helped underpin those important ideas about looking out for classmates, empathizing when someone has noone to play with.

“I really liked the respect kit. We used it after lock down and getting back into class routines and friendships. I could see how this would be a great start to the beginning of the year. To begin with the kit was a little confusing and I had to keep revisiting how I was going to use it. However, the emails and online ideas did help alot. The children enjoyed the sticker books but needed some guidance, so they didn't just go collecting everyone's sticker in one week to beat others. The question cards were great for circle times and we used some of the resources for ict unplugged sessions. There was also a good deal of ideas generated from the poster etc for writing. Didn't really do much art from it. Thanks school kit.”
