“What a fantastic kit this was. We used this on return to school following our lockdown period and allowed us to reset as far as the school year went. We spent a lot of time acknowledging that everyone had been affected by lockdown in lots of different ways and as teachers we realised that this was a great opportunity for us to change the ways in which we teach and the programmes we run in our classroom. This kit helped us set up new routines and hub rules with a lot of success. The children really enjoyed the experiences that sitting next to different and new people than usual, provided them with.”

How has the kit helped to develop prosocial behaviours? It has been great to hear the language around the classroom about charging and recharging. Students are becoming proactive in helping each other rather than coming straight to me for assistance.

How have the components within the kit helped develop your students understanding of what a respectful relationship is? The students have enjoyed the learning activities and it has been a great opportunity after COVID lockdown to reaffirm the relationships in the class.

“This is the first time I heard about this kit from another teacher in my school and I found it very useful in my class with my Year 2/3 students. This kit has lots of videos, stories, music for calming and I have never stopped using it. The teaching part of it was disrupted due to lock down period and couldn't keep up to the plan. But I am still using this kit and the students are enjoying the videos and stories. Students liked the battery concept and recharging themselves.”

“We enjoyed our the kit as we were able to link it with our Positive Behaviour for Learning program. It also helped children settle back in to school from lockdown as children were learning routines too. The children's book that was recommended as a resource online went well with it as well. The children enjoyed it really well and it helped them understand their feelings more and build positive relationships with each other . Thank you for this resource, Room 11 really did lots of learning.”
