I love this kit and so do my kids. The timing of it is impeccable, the delays we have had in starting it have meant that it is actually more relevant than ever! I am taking my time and utilising the parts/activities of the kit every week. I can see that this will be able to be used over and over! For my Yr 2 class the ";charging station and battery"; has been very important; it is visual, easily understood and satisfying. Thanks School Kit!

How has the kit helped to develop prosocial behaviours? Again, this is hard to say. I don't think that this response is an accurate reflection of the kit itself. It's more so a representation of time timing, and the struggles we as a country were facing at the time the kit was to be completed.

This year, especially for Auckland students where they have been locked down from school twice has been particularly difficult. How have the components within the kit helped develop your students understanding of what a respectful relationship is? I feel had we been in class this kit could have provided some really powerful support.
The children have enjoyed using this kit, particularly the Playground Project part of the kit. I am even considering revisiting aspects of the kit again as we re-enter the classroom after our second lockdown, particularly the battery activity, the poem and other aspects just to rebuild relationships again.

How has the kit helped to develop prosocial behaviours? The students are playing with children they may not have done previously done before. They are thinking about their actions and how they can help others feel happy.
How have the components within the kit influenced the relationships in your classroom community? The activities in the kit have helped the children to become more aware of how others in our classroom are feeling, including others, not just their friends, in games and group activities, instead of just thinking about themselves and their friends.

How have the components within the kit helped develop your students understanding of what a respectful relationship is? Children had a basic understanding of a respectful relationship from our Term One focus on Growth Mindset and beginning of the year activities. This kit has been particularly helpful to build on these concepts and reform relationships after lockdown.
This kit is one that we keep referring back to and sat alongside our school values. Our first term value was respect and our school rules are to1) Respect ourselves 2) Respect others 3)respect our environment. At times our new five year olds have difficulty relating to how others may be feeling and are still operating at a pretty egocentric level (to be expected). This kit with its myriad of ideas and resources assisted developing empathy and identifying emotions of both themselves and others and the ability to be expressive and receptive of these.

By helping children to become aware of 'positve' ways to interact with others across the curriculum (resources to use in many different curriculum areas were great) and encouraging them to identify and use these behaviours to boost themselves and others u
How have the components within the kit influenced the relationships in your classroom community? Children are aware of how their actions/words can impact others. I've observed the children being more 'careful' with each others' feelings, which has been lovely to see.

I was so devastated that I didn't get to utilise this kit within class as much as I would have liked. Obviously we went into lockdown, which meant that I unable to use the physical aspects of the kits. The online support was helpful. However, sharing these online was heavily reliant on the parents, and household and each individual families access to it / the internet. A lot of the children that I think would have benefitted from this kit hugely in class, where very difficult to contact during this period. On returning to school, many did not return to school until the country moved to level 1.

How has the kit helped to develop prosocial behaviours? It has been extremely user friendly and the tamariki have loved every activity!
How have the components within the kit influenced the relationships in your classroom community? The components of the kit have worked to reinforce the teaching of our own school values and social skills of Wananga, Manaakitanga, Mahi Tahi and Whanaungatanga.

How have the components within the kit helped develop your students understanding of what a respectful relationship is? The components helped to broaden the students understanding of respect and what a relationship entails.
This kit was exactly what I needed to help support my students and create a positive classroom vibe. It enabled students to open their minds to some have built positive relationships with their peers that had not been there prior to the taking part in the writing kit. It wasn't too difficult to fit into our busy classroom schedule. This kit also linked into our PB4L learning that we do as a school, so this helped reinforce it.
