The components help the students focus on specific behaviours/ words/ actions that demonstrate respectful relationships and enables them to understand the meaning of respect and relationships.

“A wonderful resource for our junior part of the school. Great to have a story the could relate to and role play opportunities to support a developing awareness of others emotions. My class loved the recharge battery and reflecting on their break times. It also allowed an opportunity for individuals to think how they can have an impact on others break time too.”

How have the components within the kit influenced the relationships in your classroom community? Children are playing with everyone now. They have found that all children can be fun to play with. Relationships have become more respectful and they have a shared understanding of how we should be treating each other.

The children are more aware of others feelings and how their words and actions can affect others. The picture created lots of discussion about how different people were feeling and the children came up with different solutions to ensure their batteries we

“A fantastic kit. We used this kit in Term 3 and the kids absolutely LOVED it. They enjoyed every aspect of the kit - the videos, the music through Spotify, the Would You Rather cards which caused great discussion and sometimes debate amongst class members. Children also enjoyed the class poem creation and the breathing exercise. Best of all the children embraced the idea of playing with their peers - playing with children they wouldn't normally play with. They found out information about these children that they never knew even after being in the same class as them for up to 2 years. Children have become more aware of how other children feel and how they can use their superhero powers of kindness and helpfulness to support each other. They have loved charging themselves up and are more able to readily recognise when people my be operating at the red or orange part of the battery and will try their best to charge their peers up. Thank you for providing such an amazing kit School Kit. This kit has been fabulous for us post lockdown and at the beginning of term as a reminder as to how we should treat each other.”

In that process, those children who aren't always confident socially, becoming more confident so as to not 'miss out' on the buzz that the various activities created

My children LOVED the challenge of spending time with others who they might not normally spend time with, with the incentive of a sticker. How has the kit helped to develop prosocial behaviours? Children have a wider emotional language and are more able to notice, talk about how they feel and make suggestions about what they might need so they can solve a problem when it occurs.

How have the components within the kit influenced the relationships in your classroom community? Many children have improved their empathetic response to others. They are more willing to include others beyond their close friendship group and show kindness when they notice how others are feeling.

“The children really enjoyed the variety of activities that were in the resource. There was full participation in all of the tasks as they were pitched at the right level for the age group I teach. The tasks started may conversations about how the children should be interacting with each other. Overall the tone of the class is more positive and I look forward to continuing to use the resource in the future to ensure we continue to have positive relationships throughout the rest of the year.”
