The feeling battery really helped develop my students understanding of a respectful relationship as they were able to identify with how people were feeling and then be able to build them up. My children also responded really well to the play lunch project

“Such an awesome kit. This worked perfectly in with our inquiry into colours and emotions. The children connected really will with the kit and loved being able to express how they felt. The components of the kit allowed for the children to show and how they were feeling and express it in a safe and caring environment. We still have a far way to go in creating a positive respectful relationship classroom, so I am looking forward to future steps that the kit will help us explore and develop. Thanks school kit for an amazing kit the really connected with my children.”

How has the kit helped to develop prosocial behaviours? I am not sure if the kit on its own has been that beneficial in developing prosocial behaviours as I ran Zones of Regulation beside it.

How have the components within the kit influenced the relationships in your classroom community? We have adapted parts of the kit as sticker sheets didn't work at our particular school. But the concept was great to provoke discussion.

How has the kit helped to develop prosocial behaviours? For majority of the children this was wonderful to observe. It is something I have been encouraging and advocating for since the beginning of the year and it validated and enhanced work already begun.

How have the components within the kit influenced the relationships in your classroom community? Another of our school values of our school is inclusiveness and it made making connections with others a visual activity and made them more aware of getting to know others and expanding their social groups through the play lunch project.

For children who are shy about shying because they feel that others are listening they are more willing to share.

How have the components within the kit helped develop your students understanding of what a respectful relationship is? The Very important Question story was great as all the students could relate to it. They loved talking about mock scenarios and how they would respond to others in the playground. This will be an ongoing focus for us this year.

“We have loved using the activities in this kit. Our favourite one has been the playdates. Children liked the challenge of playing with everyone. It was a game and so children who found finding someone to play with challenging now had someone to play with every day. Those children who had their group of friends and didn't play with anyone else found that they had a lot in common with other children in the class. I wish I had thought of this amazing idea. I am going to use it at the start of each year.”
