The explicit examples that were shown as well as the specific language used really shows the children what those prosocial behaviours are. they are then able to replicate these and are also able to identify them when someone else is showing them.

The story and the story board has been incredibly helpful as it shows real life scenes and examples about what might happen in the classroom. They have also loved using the play lunch project sticker charts to make sure they play with everyone in our clas

“This was an excellent kit. The kids loved the idea of charging the battery and then getting a full charge on the mat. The Lunch time project was a big hit. Each day they sat with someone different and had to share what they learnt about that person before exchanging stickers. Did some beautiful artwork on Kindness.”

How has the kit helped to develop prosocial behaviours? They are actually making the effort to connect with other children during play and lunch and getting to know them. Breaking away from just sitting with their favourite buddies. This is a great way to improve tolerance and acceptance.

How have the components within the kit influenced the relationships in your classroom community? It has impacted definitely. Each day we focus on one aspect like readiness to learn, being kind etc. Throughout the day they strive to display that quality which enables them to add a charging button to the battery.

How have the components within the kit helped develop your students understanding of what a respectful relationship is? The lunch time project has definitely helped the children to get to know the other children and starting to realise the all the children in our class matter. Talking and getting to know others is the best way to build relationships.

“Though my class came back from lockdown quite engaged and happy to work alongside each other, I found this kit particularly good for bridging the gap between my special needs learners, anxious learners and other students. The activities contained within the kit helped my students to become more aware of others and to be able to articulate themselves. We enjoyed singing the supplementary songs via the Spotify playlist. I do feel that the combination of lockdown and this being my first School Kit impacted 'best use' somewhat, as I was fairly overwhelmed with the information contained within the kit to begin with; I wasn't sure where to start and didn't have a clear plan. By discussing this with others within my team and looking up information online, I was better able to support my kids using this kit.”

“This is the third time writing this review, my data keeps getting wipped so please forgive if it is short! This kit was great and had so many resources I still haven't got through it all. Thats actually a challange I faced was trying to find the time in our busy schedule to unpack this kit in a meaningful way. What we did use were the battery and tokens, story cards, and dramatising scenarios. The conversations we had regarding what a respectful vs non respectful relationship looked like were very valuable. Our whole classroom culture changed to be a bubbly and kind atmosphere which was lovely to be in. Students were noticing each others kind actions and commenting on them. They were so focused on showing kindness, any undesirable behavior was ignored so eventually stopped occuring. The activities were also colourful, engaging and fun for our kiddies which was awesome!”

“My class of new entrants and year ones enjoyed the sticker booklets and talking through the scenarios. They were very positive about what they would do on the sports field and we had some interesting conversations about friendships. Some of the activities were a bit too advanced for my crew but I sifted through the kit and used what was appropriate for us.”

Then brainstormed ways to recharge those batteries. Children began using this language and showed empathy to others who they saw needed a battery r

We designed our own tokens and used them to promote kind and pro social behaviours as well as when the students were focused. Being focused and ready for learning Wass big one for some students

The play lunch project encouraged my students to get to know each other outside the class in a way they never have before. My new ESOL student loved it and benefited from getting to know each child and so did many others who had already been at the school
