How have the components within the kit helped develop your students understanding of what a respectful relationship is? We really enjoyed the part about reading other peoples emotions

“My class enjoyed the kit and we learnt a lot about relationships, however, I did find the kit very difficult to understand at first as it seemed like there was no clear guideline on what to do or how. After discussion with colleagues, we were able to figure out how it worked and how to incorporate it into the classroom. After this, my class was engaged in a lot of discussion and they really enjoyed the lunchtime project. I also found the battery idea very relevant to my class and it allowed me to check in on students that were running on low battery very easily.”

How has the kit helped to develop prosocial behaviours? As mentioned previously the battery and playground book worked well and will continue with a similar theme for helping with pro social behaviours. They also liked activities bin pairs solving problems.

How have the components within the kit influenced the relationships in your classroom community? Playground book was great as kids really missed their class snd were open to playing with everyone

The playground books worked well and the children enjoyed getting to know other members of the class. The battery charger went well too, the children decided to do things like five compliments to each other to build up the battery.

How has the kit helped to develop prosocial behaviours? Having a buddy to work with/play with in the play lunch time was positive. Children started picking people they wouldn’t always pick.

How have the components within the kit influenced the relationships in your classroom community? Teaching the children about their relationships with others. What good relationships look like. Ever good friends do.

How have the components within the kit helped develop your students understanding of what a respectful relationship is? The idea of the play lunch. Getting kids up spend some time together doing something small -playing eating or talking. Thug were able to get to know each other better. Looking at what things are positive things to do with other people.

“Overall this kit helped our students develop more positive relationships with their peers. They really enjoyed taking part in the playlunch project, resulting in an increase of students talking to each other and learning this about students they didn't know that well. It has been a great addition to the tools we already use to discuss respectful relationships and virtues such as kindness and helpfulness and worked alongside programmes already in place nicely. I will continue to use the resources in my room in the future.”

How have the components within the kit influenced the relationships in your classroom community? Students are open to talking about feelings and feel more comfortable around their peers. This had led to more risk taking and encouragement.

“After coming back to school after being away so long, it was important to build the relationships quickly. The students really enjoyed the playground project, and has had a lasting effect. The students in my class will work with anyone and strong relationships have formed. It was also great to focus on feelings in a non verbal way. It was great that younger students are understanding how to look for visual cues among their peers and respond accordingly.”
