I have seen children who would not normally interact spend more time together, even when there was no reward (like a sticker) at the end of it. How has the kit helped to develop prosocial behaviours? We have seen it be effective especially in helping others. We have been trying to be big on showing these behaviours even when an adults are not around and it has been good to see this kit help develop some of those skills.

How have the components within the kit influenced the relationships in your classroom community? We have seen them starting to use some of the learning in the playground. We are hoping to hear that they are using it at home too when we meet for parent teacher conferences soon.

“There were some really great parts of this kit that were super easy to use and very effective in the classroom. There were also parts that I found a little confusing. I had to spend a lot of time reading and hunting online to work out how to use some things in my classroom. I particularly loved the class battery, which we are still using, and the story question dice. The children loved the large story map poster and it generated lots of discussion and reflection.”

“This kit has been extremely valuable to the students in my class. We are still working through this kit as we have had new students coming through. Respect is our schools overarching focus so this kit is fantastic to support this. I have noticed some students that normally are unable to connect have now starting understanding each others differences and are starting to show empathy towards each other. This has been amazing to watch.”

I found the Prosocial Behaviours card very helpful. Even though my class is a little older this had the perfect language for my students. The same can be said for the Stuff you should know card :-)
