How has the kit helped to develop prosocial behaviours? It has been slow, but there is a difference in how the class reacts to unkind behaviours even if it is unintentional. The kids are more able to discus how other people may feel and ways to change interactions to positive.

How have the components within the kit influenced the relationships in your classroom community? After lockdown the kit was a great way to get back into a culture of kindness and caring. It helped focus the kids back into the classroom environment and encouraged everyone to share their own feelings and experiences.

“The kit arrived just before lockdown so we didn't get a chance to use it until we returned to school. This was the perfect time and resource to use to reintergrate our students back to school. The resources talking about feelings, empathy and relationships were fantastic. The children loved the battery and related really well to recharging their battery. As an MLE with 60 learners it was a bit tricky to carryout the play project. The resources were varied and helpful. I especially enjoyed using the website and clips. The children loved the music and breathing videos.”

“This kit couldn't have arrived at a better time. It was so good to have a resource that focused on relationships and wellbeing that could be used during and after the COVID 19 lockdown. How has the kit helped to develop prosocial behaviours? Our school has a strong focus on PB4L and the key competencies. The kit sat alongside our existing programmes very well and was seen as a great addition to what we already have in place.

How have the components within the kit influenced the relationships in your classroom community? the kit encouraged the students to look for relationships wider than their usual friendships and helped some students make friends for the first time.

“We are only part of the way through using the resources in this kit. I will probably dip in and out of it as the year progresses and I identify needs that should be addressed. I wasn't sure how the children would react to the playlunch project , but they have really enjoyed it. I have been very impressed with some the the mature conversations they have been having (the ones I happened to be lucky enough to overhear). They love collecting the stickers and counting how many they have! They really related to the battery metaphor and this is something I want to use more often next term. There are still aspects of the kit that we haven't touched on yet (lockdown provided an extra challenge!) I really like that has resources I can use throughout the year. If you offer this kit again, could I suggest that it is term 1, as I can see it would be really helpful for building those all- important relationships at the beginning of the year. Thank you School Kit and MOE for producing such a useful and attractive resource!”
