How have the components within the kit helped develop your students understanding of what a respectful relationship is? As I said the best part was the playground activity for my Y3/4 class. They liked the story that went with this about the girl that liked to play soccer. We also went on to talk about what we are grateful for.

How has the kit helped to develop prosocial behaviours? They are more inclusive of others, more willing to work with others and have become more empathetic towards others. There are less negative behaviours towards each other.

How have the components within the kit influenced the relationships in your classroom community? The children have widened their circle of friendships, they are more likely to play with other children in class that they may have chosen not to play with before and are more willing to include others.

The coding activity gave a range of examples to broaden children's thinking and understanding of how to charge someone's battery (coupled with the charging mat and battery). It got children thinking deeper than 'being nice to others' and showed them how.

How has the kit helped to develop prosocial behaviours? I used this kit with a combination of my social skills unit. It went nicely with 'being a bucket filler'. The students improved their prosocial behaviours particularly, sharing, cooperation and helping others.

“This has been a wonderful kit to use. The resources were of high quality and attractively presented. I found the 'lesson plans' were a bit tricky to follow in some places. Due to the lockdown, I didn;t get through all of the activities in the kit but the ones we did do were helpful in reestablishing children's relationships with each other and recognising and respecting the feelings others have.”

How has the kit helped to develop prosocial behaviours? It was interesting for children to have a think about what prosocial behaviours are and to consider if they use them. This will continue to be a focus for our class in term 3 and 4.

If we had more time to get through all of the activities in the kit, I think we would have had more of an impact on the relationships in our classroom community. If possible, I would like to continue on with the activities we missed during term 3.

My NE children have been able to learn what the words respect and relationship mean. They have been able to apply their learning to many situations inside and outside the classroom - how do we respect each other.

“I found the kit; respectful relationships, very timely and relevant. It matched our PB4L foci and structure. The children really enjoyed the story cards and the coding exercise as they were hands on and easily integrated with other curriculum areas. The kit gave you a range of resources; video, song, cards, batteries, dice etc. This meant it catered for a variety of learning needs.”
