“This kit arrived in term 1 but we didn't start it before lockdown. It was a great way of reintroducing class culture and building more solid relationships when we returned to school. We eat as a class after play and this was one of the times the children could sit and get to know each other well. The passports and sticker swap was a highlight of the kit. We were lucky having a small class so that teacher and teacher aides could take part in the individual talking time. Other parts of the kit were well explained and lots could fit well into a half hour afternoon slot. The story was easy for the children to understand and relate to. Lots of the online clips helped lead discussion about emotions and how we are the same or different and it's ok.”

How has the kit helped to develop prosocial behaviours? There has been a heightened awareness in our class, over each individual's responsibility towards the building of good relationships and a positive class environment (and just simply Being Kind!).

How have the components within the kit influenced the relationships in your classroom community? I am hearing the children using the 'language' of friendship - reminding each other (and themselves) about what makes for kind and positive relations.

“My students totally enjoyed this kit. Good discussions were had around being respectful and friendship. The students enjoyed swapping their stickers. The stickers also helped them to see who they had not spent time with. Those children became 'priority people'. This meant children who did not have a certain colour sticker had to make those children a priority. It worked a treat! This also provided good discussion and made the children aware of how some children can be left out.”

“I have a year 4-6 class and thought i could adapt some of it, which i did. we didnt use the playground sticker chart but used the battery - where am i feeling? each day they would place their token. we loved using the dice and used in storywriting time!!!”
