“I like this kit and would use it again. The battery ideas will continue to be on the wall, alongside some ways to 'recharge' so the students can continue to refer to it. I found the kit a little hard to follow initially - some of the instructions were hard to find.”

How has the kit helped to develop prosocial behaviours? Understanding and recognition of pro social behaviours then open conversations around problem solving strategies.

How have the components within the kit influenced the relationships in your classroom community? Fantastic opportunity for students to mix with others who they wouldn’t usually play with. New friendships made as a result. Also was beneficial for teacher to see which students didn’t have many stickers and she was able to support.

How has the kit helped to develop prosocial behaviours? Many of the children enjoyed swapping their stickers but were also surprised at how many other children had similar interests as them. It sparked lots of conversation and help to form new friendships that may not have occurred naturally.

How have the components within the kit influenced the relationships in your classroom community? The was a great tool to help children understand and read others emotions especially with the many different emotions being expressed after lockdown.

How have the components within the kit helped develop your students understanding of what a respectful relationship is? The children really related to the story and were able to empathise with the characters. The battery changing station was a great way for the class to not only work together to show kindness but celebrate individual acts of respect and kindness

“Children loved talking about the picture that was supplied in the kit. They particularly like talking about the different scenarios and how they could improve the situation. During the term if a situation arose the children were quick to refer to what had happened in the picture and how the best way to solve the problem would be.”

“The resources were fabulous to use on our return to school after lockdown. It was highly relevant to focus on reconnecting with each other, understanding feelings and rebuilding friendships within the class. How has the kit helped to develop prosocial behaviours? The students were able to understand what prosocial behaviours are and I would acknowledge when they were demonstrating these.

How have the components within the kit influenced the relationships in your classroom community? I adapted the play lunch project to fit in with our kindness theme and the students loved sharing who had shown them kindness and giving one of their stickers to their fellow classmates.

“Overall I like that is was a collection of ideas and activities that we could choose how and when to deliver rather than linear lessons. The activities were creative and my class especially enjoyed the story telling activity. I have a yr 3/4 class and my year 4's did not take well to the playground activity, being intentional to spend time with everyone.”

How has the kit helped to develop prosocial behaviours? The resources were used alongside our playbased approach and a focus on feelings and Citizenship. They proved a useful tool.

How have the components within the kit influenced the relationships in your classroom community? Exchanging the stickers to show who they had played or interacted with encouraged some children to break out of their exclusive friendship groups and become more open to including others.

How have the components within the kit helped develop your students understanding of what a respectful relationship is? Focusing on our own feelings and extending this into thinking about others really helped my class of 5 year olds gain an understanding of what a respectful relationship is.

“The timing ended up being amazing as my class used the resource when we went back to school after lockdown. It gave the children an opportunity to share their thoughts and feelings about themselves and their peers in a safe environment. The equipment was exciting for the children to use, good to have individual copies of some resources, or could use in small groups. The email that came later with additional ideas on how to use the kit was very helpful. We have been able to connect the Respectful Relationships Unit with the 'Zones of Regulation' which is also one of our learning projects this year. Thank you for the Respect kit as the children are more aware of supporting all their class mates and not just their close friends.”
