How relevant has this kit been with maintaining/establishing/reestablishing classroom relationships during Covid? The students have been encouraged to discuss how they can build respectful relationships and how they can work together to interact with a range of people.
This resource was great quality and a great time of the year as I had a few new children start when I started using the kit. The children loved the battery pad and I would see them using it throughout the day to get 'charged'. The giant playground map was a great visual to help support all children on knowing the area that we were discussing.

I definately had students stop and think about their behaviour, one of our most successful lessons was getting my students to understand what challenges them to create/build respectful relationships with their class peers - this was powerful because ackno
I really thought this was a great kit to get children to make new connections with others in the class. The morning tea play booklet meant that some children who had never played together did so and made new friendships. The battery charge station gave me a good idea of how the children were feeling which led to good conversations as to how things could improve for them.

Respectful Relationships 22 The kit matched with our school values respect and connect, and PB4L perfectly. As Yr 1's we enjoyed sharing some of the activities with our Big Yr 4 buddies. It was great to see the children "mentoring"/helping one another branch out with friendship groups in the class and playground.

How has the kit helped to develop prosocial behaviours? We discussed them in the first instance when introducing the class battery and have done a range of activities encouraging the children to identify and explore the behaviours over the course of the term. Mostly our children use these behaviours anyway.

How has this kit influenced your classroom community? It provided a starting point for us to build relationships between the children in two adjacent classes, through a tuakana-teina model. This has been the most significant influence on the development of relationships in the class,

How relevant has this kit been with maintaining/establishing/reestablishing classroom relationships during Covid? We found the kit didn't work particularly well for us. We started out by following and using the plan and resources, but incorporated lots of our own ideas, activities and resources.
This was perfect timing as there was a child in my class who found the playground extremely challenging along with 3 new children and we could focus on building relationships and using our social communication skills and our school qualities to make this term very successful for all - it was great!

This kit was amazing for reflection as a whole class and inviting resources! It has worked so well for my small class of 12 5-7 yr olds

My year 2 class really enjoyed this box and it was relevant to our class. I love the use of Te Reo on the mat and the kids really enjoyed taking part in the box.

It was good but felt it would be better in term 1 when the new entrants are settling in as a new class and to set up routines of the new battery charge idea etc and the play lunch idea to meet new friends. The children really enjoyed the stories and the play mat to talk about what was going on for the children in the pictures thanks

How relevant has this kit been with maintaining/establishing/reestablishing classroom relationships during Covid? Students recognise their potential impact on others, how they are feeling and ways in which they could offer help. Empathy and compassion grew and improved outside of the sessions.
This kit was very timely for resetting relationships and expectations of prosocial behaviours as we headed into the final term. The resources are very easy to integrate into existing programmes such as literacy, and digital technologies. There's a good range of cross-curricular ideas too. Great kit!
