Good, Covid times are quite stressful so its been good to be able to use the kit to reflect back at how we are feeling and what we can do for each other and ourselves to establish and maintain positive relationships

Great tools to help support and guide my teaching towards the language and tools to encourage respectful relationships and highlighting behaviours in class when this is practiced to encourage it to continue and praise the children.

“This would be a fantastic kit to do at the beginning of the year however even at the end it has helped reinforce and build on previous learning. It has supported and built on to other programmes we have done earlier this year such as Life Education, PB4L and Executive Functions. This kit has a good range of activities to engage the students. Haven't managed to use all of it - out of class and other activities but what we have has been well received.”

“My little darlings enjoyed this kit very much. We enjoyed linking some of the learning to our Zones of Regulations which has helped to think about how the way we behave can affect others and how they feel. We used the power station mats as zones of reflections where we can sit and reflect about the words or actions we've used in class. Reflection time was modelled as a neutral time, where you went there if you needed some time alone to just think. Sometimes we even used the mat with a friend who we think we needed to talk with or who we thought might have needed some support with showing respect. This kit also helped my year 1 and 2s to get a grasp of our school value of care and respect.”

“This kit was good at focussing students on how they interact with their peers. The access to stories, playground projects and battery resources, made it visual, in-your-face and gave oportunities for great conversations. Vocabulary was built for describing feelings, allowing students to communicate more effectively with their peers. Tasks were interactive and engaging.”

How has this kit influenced your classroom community? The children have begun to spend time someone different through play lunch. This has helped strengthen the interpersonal relationships within our classroom.

I began teaching this group of students in Term 3 where student absences due to covid were non-existent. I do feel that students have been especially welcoming to others who had been away due to other illnesses, however.

It generated lots of conversation and diversity and everyone learnt to be respectful to everyone's different opinions
