The children are definitely more aware of what to say and which behaviors show a resourceful relationship. We were able to discuss, list and role play these as we explored the Play lunch project and class battery. Recommended books above clips also helped

How has this kit influenced your classroom community? I have seen students going out of their way to include others who might not be included, a shift from a self centered mindset.

My class only started up after the lockdowns, but I noticed children were a lot more focused on themselves. Probably because they're used to just entertaining themselves at home and not interacting with others.

We really focused on the charging of a battery and my kids seem to really have taken to the idea that we don't all come to school with the same levels and we need to show kindness in case someone isn't charged.

“There was so many options to use this kit in class to help build new, positive relationships. The kit helped us generate wonderful discussions about what it means to be a good friend and how we can support each other in class and in the playground. There is still plenty of learning that we can use this kit for so I will be continuing our exploration into term 3 and I am looking forward to exploring how others have used it to give me more ideas.”
