How have the components of Respectul Relationships helped develop your student's understanding of what a respectful relationship is? Little at the moment but good for students who aren't attending regularly (although they seem to miss the lessons frequently!)

How relevant has this kit been with maintaining/establishing/reestablishing classroom relationships during Covid? Still working on getting through the kit, but positive so far, builds on to zones of regulation, bucket filling and school values.
A great amount of resources and ideas for teaching about Respectful Relationships but the level was aimed well above my 5 year olds therefore after trying a few activities I left the kit alone.

How have the components of Respectul Relationships helped develop your student's understanding of what a respectful relationship is? Low attendance made it hard to be consistent, however students related well with the topic especially battery levels.

How relevant has this kit been with maintaining/establishing/reestablishing classroom relationships during Covid? Students were engaged and enjoyed the hands on resources to form positive relationships. Great use of different activities.
It was amazing to see the children really engage with the kit. They loved the battery. Covid disruptions made it hard to have consistency with the class but will attempt to re try it this term

How have the components of Respectul Relationships helped develop your student's understanding of what a respectful relationship is? Low class numbers was the only issue. Would have preferred to do this with a full class.

How has this kit influenced your classroom community? Children have actively tried to play with new people. A lot more positive comments throughout the day. Children are mindful of the fact others may not arrive at school happy and ready to learn and may need space or a friend.

Understanding the difference between different compliments - surface feature vs deeper. Understanding different people resolve situations differently. The stickers were effective in getting the class to play with new and different people.

How has the kit helped to develop prosocial behaviours? We start the day talking about how we are feeling and if we are ready for learning. We have learnt strategies to help others move into the green zone and be 'good to go'.

How has this kit influenced your classroom community? We have learnt that we can work and play with anyone. This has helped some students, who have particular friendships, learn how to join new groups.

Many children have been away due to covid and winter illnesses so students have learnt to play with students they would not normally play and work with. We have worked on how to ask to join a new friend or established group and also that it is okay when

The children really enjoyed using the stickers to ensure they had lunch and play dates with all their classmates.

How has this kit influenced your classroom community? I have seen students going out of their way to include others who might not be included, a shift from a self centered mindset.
How have the components of Respectul Relationships helped develop your student's understanding of what a respectful relationship is? My class only started up after the lockdowns, but I noticed children were a lot more focused on themselves. Probably because they're used to just entertaining themselves at home and not interacting with others.

How relevant has this kit been with maintaining/establishing/reestablishing classroom relationships during Covid? We really focused on the charging of a battery and my kids seem to really have taken to the idea that we don't all come to school with the same levels and we need to show kindness in case someone isn't charged.
There was so many options to use this kit in class to help build new, positive relationships. The kit helped us generate wonderful discussions about what it means to be a good friend and how we can support each other in class and in the playground. There is still plenty of learning that we can use this kit for so I will be continuing our exploration into term 3 and I am looking forward to exploring how others have used it to give me more ideas.

How has this kit influenced your classroom community? A deeper understanding of their emotions and feelings means they can develop empathy towards others. Individuals are more aware of the impact they have on people around them positive and negative and can recognise it in their peers- leading to less egotis

How relevant has this kit been with maintaining/establishing/reestablishing classroom relationships during Covid? We had to break down the word RESPECT into different concepts and gave each letter of the word an appropriate action and then the children's understanding grew and they were able to implement these into their current and new relationships. The battery was
The children built new relationships with 2 children who came into our class during the term They took turns to buddy up with each child and make them feel comfortable. It also got different groups of children mixing together and trying new games. At the start the children really got into the question cards and worked hard on their reasoning.
