How has the kit helped to develop prosocial behaviours? Students really responded well to some of the video clips and resources. Talking through a range of feelings that they were unfamiliar with. This meant that they were on the lookout for those who needed extra support.

I was able to integrate the Respectful Relationship kit with our Inquiry. It helped strengthen the relationships within our class after having a tough first term when student attendance was not stable.

How has the kit helped to develop prosocial behaviours? The leaners know now that they can play with everyone and at playtimes you could see that they would go and sit with someone who wasn't a friend yet.

How relevant has this kit been with maintaining/establishing/reestablishing classroom relationships during Covid? It really helped them to be able to see the battery and to be able to set a weekly goal. They love to come into the class the whole day to make sure if the battery is charged or not.
I thought the idea of the kit was great. We started and the mat has become our class recharge and thinking spot. Helping with behaviour management. My aakonga like the concept of the playground stickers but haven't yet quite gained the concept. We use this along side the Bucket filler book due to a large amount of behaviour issues in my class and it worked really well with my aakonga relating to the colours. I think I wasn't able to get this kit fully functioning in my new entrant class possibly better suited for year 1 as my older aakonga seemed to understand this better. It has been helpful for building peer relationships. I will continue using this next term it has overall been a useful tool within my class thank you.

How has the kit helped to develop prosocial behaviours? As above -helped with regulating emotions and how we can calm ourselves and be in a good space to learn and relate to others calmly. Has also supported the teaching we had started around being a "bucket filler"and a "warm fuzzy"and support our peers.

We have found that many children lacked social skills of sharing and how to overcome a problem as they had not been exposed to challenges or had to deal with them for some time due to isolation and lockdowns.

How relevant has this kit been with maintaining/establishing/reestablishing classroom relationships during Covid? Helped with how we can relate to others in different regions of the school. This integrated well with our initial unit of inquiry on ":Who We Are"which included setting ourselves up to learn and behaviours of good learners.
The children loved the kit so much. The language the students are using are impressive. We also love using the mat when we feel 'wobbly.' We talk about how we feel, and the children are more attentive to each other.

How has the kit helped to develop prosocial behaviours? Tamariki are able to identify their own feelings and are starting to identify how others are feeling teacher. Tamariki will help their peers during play, ask them how they are feeling and provide support and help to their peers.

How has this kit influenced your classroom community? The tamariki were able to look beyond themselves and began to think about how their words/actions impacted others. They became kinder to one another and began to share more.

How relevant has this kit been with maintaining/establishing/reestablishing classroom relationships during Covid? The kit helped to develop and enhance respectful relationships with our new entrance classes. They are now kinder, patient and caring tamariki.
There were some really great resources in the kit. I found it a bit hard to know where to start, what to do next as there wasnt a guide or teaching instrucitons as such.

How has this kit influenced your classroom community? Our school is small so we are like a family but with that there are some problems so working together with school kit and other agencies has been a great way to discuss our relationships.

We have done a lot of work with emotions and feeling this term so it was awesome to be able to link all of the different ideas together. The links to resources (videos and readings) was really helpful.

How has this kit influenced your classroom community? There is more of a connection between year groups and boys/girls. We are better at noticing others feelings through facial expressions and body language. Therefore there is more aroha and empathy.

Looking, noticing and then doing something for someone who has a 'low battery' was a fantastic way for children to expressing their learn
Our class have enjoyed this kit very much. Ngā tamariki have found so much value in this unit and I have seen a range of improvements across the key competencies as a result of the various learning activities included in the kit.

How relevant has this kit been with maintaining/establishing/reestablishing classroom relationships during Covid? learners understand more about the value of all of their peers and are more comfortable playing with anyone.
A good kit if you're stuck for ideas on how to build a classroom community, or want to try something new. It would work best in Term 1, or for a teacher taking over a class later in the year, or if there was a change in class values/behaviour for some reason. There was too much in the kit for my Y1/2 class in Term 2, as we'd already covered a lot of the same ground in Term 1. The Playlunch Project was really successful with my class, and encouraged children to play with children they didn't normally play with, resulting in several new friendships.

How has the kit helped to develop prosocial behaviours? Great - for our younger learners the activities - the question cards got them thinking in some ways quite out of the box thinking to. We aligned to our school values and well bing model to it became part of everyday learning.

How has this kit influenced your classroom community? We were able to discuss content as part of our circle time to help students consider their actions and how them impact relationships.
How have the components of Respectul Relationships helped develop your student's understanding of what a respectful relationship is? We didn't use this during lockdown as we were back in class, but COVID was active in our community. We discuss aspects - such as when people were away it time to make new friends and play with other people. So yes it was relevant for sure.
