The stories, playground map and stickers all helped introduce the concepts and encourage a dialogue around prosocial expectations and desired behaviours. But I couldn't find the questions? They appeared on the website to have been printed on yellow card?

How has the kit helped to develop prosocial behaviours? The students were motivated to take self-ownership of using prosocial behaviours to charge the class battery. A certain amount of peer-pressure was involved. The students became more empathetic of each other.

How has this kit influenced your classroom community? It became a lot more inclusive; most children moved out of their usual friendship circles. I have noticed that some students (even my boy with autism) are now more welcoming of new students that have arrived late in the year.

The kit is linked with making and keeping friends within the class - so the kit has been very relevant - as the one thing that most students cherished was being back at school after a lockdown (or holiday break) was being back with their friends and rees

The battery was a really good visual to help develop the students' self awareness of their behaviours. The school mat helped show students which situations/actions emptied or filled our batteries.

“This kit was amazing to launch our new school year. We began with the Playlunch Project, and it was a hit with the class. So much so, we've carried it on all term. I've noticed that the class all gel so nicely with each other, and always have something to play with. No-one in my class has said they can't find a friend, which is a first!! The question cubes have been fantastic too in lots of different contexts. We've used them in our shared reading, inquiry and circle times as well as in relation to this kit. It's really helped develop an awareness of perspective, opinions and appreciation. The whanau cards have been great too for cueing our families into what we're learning and involving them even though they can't be on site right now. The resources were engaging and fun for the kids. They love the charging station and this has become part of our daily sign in activities. It's great to start the day with such a positive vibe!”

How has the kit helped to develop prosocial behaviours? When having a restorative chat after a playground incident it was cool to hear some of the actions students could remember to do for next time eg saying kind things, understanding boundaries, learning to lose.

How has this kit influenced your classroom community? I have a child with special needs and play times were an issue for her. The play lunch project is perfect. We did it for a month and set it for a minimum of 10 minutes but often the interaction continued for the whole session.
