In what way did your perception of the issues relevant to your class change? Being a digital native myself I found that this gave me a professional way to open up these conversations without talking about specifics. Really great scaffolding.

Please describe your comfort level in delivering the more mature content within this kit I was comfortable mainly due to it being my main focus of teaching. However, I could see this kit giving those teachers who may be less confident a really tangible way of unpacking this with their students.

What was something that surprised you about your class throughout the teaching and learning of this kit? They really onboarded with the online/offline boundaries and admitted they had never really thought of the web in a physical space sense like they do IRL.

“I believe this is a great way of creating an online offline relationship for students - I think this programme should replace the current KOS Health Programme as this is much more relevant.”

I tend to look at things from a 'what makes it to my Depouty Principal's office' as a measure of what is the top tier stuff going on but you realise how much this generation of kid deals with online and just how much freedom they have in an environment th

What was something that surprised you about your class throughout the teaching and learning of this kit? Openessm, consistency of issues experienced, how much time we dont spend on these discussions due to curriculum demands.

“There is so much gold in this unit of work - the very nature of it being structured the way it is ensures real time to talk - away from screens. As a professional i have seen so much of the investment in pastoral and education around health go online as a easy way to access info but engagement drops away so quickly.”

In what way did your perception of the issues relevant to your class change? I hadn't realised how exposed they were to certain aspects of the web. It took awhile for students to be truthful (even during the marbles). How they approach situations in class is very different to how they approach them online.

What was something that surprised you about your class throughout the teaching and learning of this kit? How they related to each other. Many of my students have struggled to maintain positive relationships within the classroom. Their knowledge on how to behave online is much stronger than I first thought.

“I really liked some of the tasks that could be completed with the class. The instructions are rather confusing and I suppose I was unsure how much time to allocate to each section to complete.”

“We have thoroughly enjoyed working through this school kit! The topics covered have provided Room 16 with some great discussion points and students have become more aware of decisions they are making when working online!”
