Please describe your comfort level in delivering the more mature content within this kit I can see us using this resource or something similar every 2nd year. We use the ";Navigating the Journey from Family planning and so we would use it in conjunction or alternate years.

What was something that surprised you about your class throughout the teaching and learning of this kit? Some students had very clear opinions that were based on what they read or watch on the internet rather than through discussion with parents

“There were some great discussion cards which we adapted. We found the game a bit hard to follow so we adapted it for the large class of 40”

Please describe your comfort level in delivering the more mature content within this kit I did choose to leave a couple of the cards out as I felt my class weren't quite ready for them. I will address them next year when they are Year 8's as I think they will have the maturity to talk about them then.

“This is the first time I have used the School Kit resource and I loved it! It linked in really well to our Term 4 inquiry. Thank you so much for the opportunity - I hope you continue to offer these amazing kits in the future!”

In what way did your perception of the issues relevant to your class change? Students don't have an awareness of what is safe and not safe - they are so much more socially aware because of the internet.

Please describe your comfort level in delivering the more mature content within this kit For Year 7 &; 8 students - this was a successful topic to teach - some of the poems and videos were a little hard to understand - especially the first poem - the students didn't quite know how to get themselves lost and then unlost.

What was something that surprised you about your class throughout the teaching and learning of this kit? How different the values, rules, boundaries and opinions students/parents and teachers have from each other with regards to online and offline boundaries.

“Loved teaching this programme - the students enjoyed the variety in activities, the posters that they could keep, the group activities, the high level critical thinking and the challenge of being aware of what is safe and not safe online.”

What was something that surprised you about your class throughout the teaching and learning of this kit? That they were so open about what has happened to them - or gave examples of things that they knew had happened to their older siblings. They really wanted to engage in discussions and asked LOTS of questions, they wanted to know more and more.

“This was an excellent kit to make students wake up to the danger they can be in without even knowing. It had some hard hitting facts and activities and even the teacher kit really made me stop and think about what my students are exposed to - and how much younger they are when this is happening.”

In what way did your perception of the issues relevant to your class change? I did not expect the high amount of students who have already been exposed to things that made them uncomfortable. I also did not realize how normalized online hate rants were at this age (12/13)

“I love the way children can safely explore the issues around cyber safety and appropriate behaviour. Was not threatening or 'dark' and I found it easy to teach.”

What was something that surprised you about your class throughout the teaching and learning of this kit? I was surprised by how many of my Year 7's were already using social media despite not being old enough to be allowed to. We had a couple of discussions about why there were age limits to some online interactions and they pointed out that most of that was

“I loved the fact this was screen free and didn't rely on a class set of devices to use. Good real world activities and thought provoking stimuli.”
