What was something that surprised you about your class throughout the teaching and learning of this kit? the unpacking and scaffolding required to make the connection between the tasks and activities.

“I found the kit really hard to understand in regards to the instructions/lesson plan and getting my head around what I needed to do. I definitely think the kit is pitched to an older year group than the Year 7's I have.”

In what way did your perception of the issues relevant to your class change? I hadn't realised how many students parents weren't aware of what they were up to online and how it was so easy for strangers to communicate through games.

“A fantastic kit, kids learned a lot and it developed student agency.”

I was surprised at just how many students have had challenged situations online, it was higher than I thought it might have been with my students. Also the low engagement from some parents around their child’s involvement with being online and what exactl

It was great that so many were so open to share, I do wonder about those students who were comfortable to share but I feel that is kit allowed them to get some answers connect with others and we also discussed what to do if they were in a challenging situ

What was something that surprised you about your class throughout the teaching and learning of this kit? They were really focused and engaged (whereas they tend to struggle with long discussions otherwise).

“The activities in this kit were fantastic for drawing parallels between the online world and the offline world. This definitely made the appropriate/inappropriate behaviour more explicit and tangible for students to discuss and use.”

In what way did your perception of the issues relevant to your class change? I assumed they were more aware of the dangers than what was actually the case. Not the ";digital natives"; that we hear about.

What was something that surprised you about your class throughout the teaching and learning of this kit? My students worked very well together on this kit. Students who do not usually collaborate found common ground on which to share ideas and co-create.

“Overall I enjoyed using this kit. It helped push me into dealing with issues I may not have. The students really took to the games and enjoyed working collaboratively. The YouTube videos really helped some of my groups better understand expectations and success criteria.”

“Due to too many balls in the air that I juggle as a teacher and COVID I did not get to complete this. This was disappointing as the resource was awesome when I looked over it. I have on-passed this to the head of health at our school to integrate into next years lessons around Cyber Safety. I apologise for this as I know a lot of work goes into these from your end. We as teachers do value them.”
