As our school is close to Petone Beach (within walking distance), it has been really relevant for them to understand the impact of rubbish on our local environment and the sea creatures it can affect. We are currently still working on this kit.

We are using this kit as part of our camp activities and cleaning a part of the beach near to camp. The resources to assist with the prep for the clean up are awesome, and are really helping students to think about how our actions now have a lasting impact moving forward. We are looking forward to the results of our clean up!

We used the School Kit with the School Council and they were fascinated with the analysis of the rubbish and the story the rubbish might have told due to the type of rubbish we found. They were equally fascinated by the creatures that had made adaptations to live amongst long standing rubbish, like old clay pipes. They have continued the crusade by spreading the message at school by creating posters.
