“2nd review from me as last seemed to be lost in cyberspace! Room 12 enjoyed contributing to the community organising a variety of group projects. Thanks for the motivation and materials to help the students undertake these rewarding experiences”
“Our homeroom class went to Karadean residential Home at Oxford where we sang and entertained the residents. We then cleaned their van and did some weeding in the gardens.
The entertainment was lovely with all students participating and we then had a chat to the residents and gave them some flowers. This was a lovely session.

“This was a great resource to use in the classroom. It was interesting to see where my year 4 class saw a need in the community and they all wanted to pick an environmental impact. We planted Trees along a new walkway that is being set up. All students were engaged in this project and enjoyed being in charge of putting out notices and informing others of their role. They especially enjoyed the badges. Thanks, for a great project it tied into our wellbeing unit of this term really well!”
“Our group of year 5 children were very keen, they decided on organising a syndicate wide clean up day to work in with beach clean up day. The group organised for the 5 classes to clean up parts of the East Bay of Plenty beaches and where to take rubbish when finished with”
“The entire kit was useful. The Year 3 children are still wearing their badges even though we completed the project ten days ago! We used the letterheads to ask for specific help. We received sponsorship from our PTA, Bunnings, PGC Wrightson's and the local tennis club and New World.
Whilst we could have attempted the project without the kit - it would have been far harder, the children wouldn't have had the same thrill of ownership and I believe we wouldn't have got the same level of sponsorship. SO THANK YOU!
Please enjoy the following video made by one of our 8 year olds using video and photos taken by the 'Storytellers'.

The grass is now growing and the children are thrilled.

“SVA was a great tool to help our Year 3-4 students to decide on a project. Many of our students love nature and gardening so we chose a neighbourhood project - the ultimate seed collection. The purpose of our project was to collect, pot and deliver seeds to our students' neighbourhoods for them to plant seeds in their own gardens. The SVA guides helped us discover roles within the team, direct our next steps for the project and kept us thinking about our creativity and sustainability purposes of the project. Students have really learned the benefits of paying it forward! Thanks SVA!”
“This was and awesome project to do with our Yr5/6 class. The students were incredibly engaged and loved being involved in a community project that made a real difference. Great resources supplied too. Would recommend.”
“We did enjoy this kit and had lots of good discussions and ideas but in the end I found it hard to get the go ahead from organisations for their approval in the time set. However we worked around this and we used our unit around creating a school garden to complete this task and this worked well.”
