The kit was very well set out, and easy to follow. The tamariki have thoroughly enjoyed being able to be a part of this movement. It helped to ignite a passion in some of my tamariki. They loved the bands, and wearing the badges, and were able to discuss with other tamariki and parents the importance of helping others.

The activities were all useful in finding out , applying and producing with an outcome that was meaningful to students. We use a localised curriculum and this aligned with making a difference in the world as well as our special character as a catholic school in actioning social justice.

What was the community impact of your volunteering project? We are still in the process of selling soap we have made and are giving the money to a local charity to help those in need.

We did this more as a class project rather than individual groups. We decided that we would raise some funds to support a local charity and help those in need. As a school we support Caritas but wanted to support some more local. We made soap and are in the process of selling them to parents and people in the community and if it’s proves to be popular, we’ll make some more. We have experimented with different colours and scents and looked into packaging and advertising in order to sell out soap. The children have had different roles within the soap making and advertising process. As always the kits are so professionally done and are engaging and easy to use to support what we do in the classroom and beyond. Thank you
