What was the community impact of your volunteering project? There was not much of an impact as we couldn't complete it, and will have to be looked at next year. Some kids did ask how they can make a difference so we discussed food banks and picking up rubbish when walking past it.

We started and discussed what we wanted to do during term 3, what could we do in order to help our community. It started out as fun, however we went into lockdown the week after, and became increasingly difficult to continue with the volunteering. I wish I could say we completed the SVA, I will be using it in Term 1 of next term, hopefully with less lockdowns.

The children thoroughly enjoyed the SVA Kit. We looked at the needs in our community and decided to do something to make the elderly feel more connected with their community. The resource was helpful because it helped us to identify a need. The children felt proud of their work and it was very purposeful.

This was an excellent follow up to our recent leadership unit where we studied Sam Johnston himself. The students minds ticked of ways to help our community and decided on a cause close to all our hearts the SPCA. We worked hard planning and creating dog toys and cupcakes to sell with all proceeds going to SPCA
