This is the best kit to support student agency and voice within a school. The strength of inquiry and leadership within this kit are phenomenal. I hope to use this kit yearly regardless of if I am able to source a kit as the learning that comes from it is so strong. Last year my class taught sports and art to a local kindy as I split the class into two teams so they can individually run the task. This year we have a fundraising group and a donation group looking to provide resources to A local charity. Photo of our fundraiser: Pink Shirt Day (anti bullying) is included.

Loved the kit. Getting our heads around the roles took a bit of work but once we got into it we learned a lot! It was great for the children to give back something to our very supportive community. It was also neat to see many adults in the community work alongside our children.

What was the community impact of your volunteering project? We are still working through our project with our students due to lockdown but I would say that they have definitely gained a greater understanding of why people volunteer and the multiple ways that they can give back to their community.

The SVA kit was the first school kit that I had ever done and it was AMAZING. It is so easy to use with its detailed plan and great accompanying resources. Another teacher from my school is working through this kit so we decided to collaborate which has helped our students and ourselves look at this from multiple angles. Due to the lockdowns we are still working through this kit in class but our kids are loving it and they can't wait to see all of their plans in action.

Great kit, lots of ideas and resources. Could have a little more detail of what each role needs to do.

What was the community impact of your volunteering project? Students would get out in the community and educate their whanau and others about the environment and cleaning up. They would go to parks in the weekends with their families to clean up etc

What was the community impact of your volunteering project? The Tamariki were really focused on fundraising and wanted to support people in need, so we really had to talk through how we need to do this through charities. We are still in the process of narrowing this down with consensus...hard not to steer them in

Loved this kit although felt it was pitched a little above with all the suggested roles that could be held, especially as the Tamariki wanted to support a charity with fundraising!
