What made you decide to undertake a tax based programme and specifically the Part of something bigger kit for your students?
Business Studies is a popular subject at our area school, and I wanted to provide a rigorous and engaging Social Sciences topic to cater to student interest, as well as the demands of the curriculum. Tax and financial literacy is highly relevant to our Year 9 and 10 cohort, but it is an aspect of the curriculum I am less confident with.
If you were to re use this resource in the future, how would you see yourself doing this? (Eg, as a full unit, separately in other units of work, integrating into cross curricular lesson plans)
This time I integrated it in a creative way, where students really fleshed out their character stories. Next time, I would like to use it in conjunction with other non-fiction resources to get them engaged with current events and debates relating to taxation.
