This resource was really awesome. We were able to tie it in with our health and fitness programme as well as our statistics unit. Unfortunately we did not quite get to finish it all (such a busy term at our school!!) the kids tried their best and enjoyed seeing how far we could get. They are such a competitive bunch. I think that if it were to come out again we would forget about asking for help from the community as this was a struggle and just focus on seeing how far we can get, come up with a goal and plan. Perhaps make it a competition with another class. It was cool to have the kids out in nature and in the fresh air.

Students loved this process. The cross curriculuar links were a bonus, and was engaging with the additonal resources for a range of student levels.

This was awesome as it tied in well with our Measurement unit in class. Some things were tricky like actually having solid data... some kids were a bit silly with their info.

The kit engaged our class to realize how far we were collectively travelling each day for fitness, but also how far that translated as a whole. We approached the task from a slightly different perspective. Could our daily warm-up runs around our school and new bike track add up to the length of NZ? Could we collate the distances from each session and then plot them on a Google Map and slideshow to show where in Aotearoa we would go? Could we then have to find things to do in the town/city/paddock that we found ourselves in and discover something about the places we haven't yet been to (But because of Covid,, we might visit sometime soon?)

Tena te Roopu of School Kits. Nga mihi nui! This was a great initiative to get our tamariki and some whanau out of the classroom and school and participate in activity that they would not normally do. The added incentive of counting our steps was very effective.

Kia ora koutou. We used this as a whole running exercise across the school. We have a track at the school and ran that and worked out the maths to work out the steps. Lots of maths involved and by bringing in competition between classes we got more involvement. We had to adapt this so we could work in in with other plans in the school hence using the full school. Thanks for making an awesome resource.

Excellent kit. Great for maths classes and social studies. We used it with the mainstream class and the extension class and they both loved the challenge.
