“I purchased this air compressor at the beginning of July but it has proved not to be feasible to pump up my car tyres satisfactorily.
As you screw the pump nozzle to the tyre valve the air starts to come out of the tyre. You can tighten up the connection and this stops the air leaking. However as soon as you start to undo the connection, having got the tyre to the correct pressure, the air starts to come out reducing the tyre pressure below the required level. My son in law has one of these pumps and his solution is to over inflate the tyre and then undo the connection as quickly as possible. I tried this but the gap between the pump connector and the wheel hub is small so it is very difficult to unscrew the pump connector quickly, so the air still leaks. Even if you over inflate the tyre there is still a danger the pressure will drop below the required level. and you then start all over again”

The nozzle you're describing is a screw-on type, which is designed to provide a secure seal during inflation. However, with this style, there can sometimes be a small loss of air as the connector is removed. Over-inflating slightly and then removing the connector quickly, as your son-in-law has done, is a commonly used technique. That said, the actual amount of air lost during the removal of the hose is minimal so this isn't always necessary.
