Pros & cons
Pros - it is compact and does not take up much room, may fit in glove box. Easier than a foot pump. Easier than taking the car to a garage/petrol station and using their pump.
Cons - contecting the inflation tube to the body the threaded bezel does not turn so the length of tube acts like a pendulum. Connecting to the tyre the bezel does turn to allow you to attach the tube to the tyre valve. There is the possibility of cross threading when attaching to the tyre valve; the push on and clip, like on the foot pump may be better for some, it would be slightly quicker. The use of a memory confuses the issue of inflating the tyre as different numbers appear in the window, a simple what the pressure is now, increase or decease by using +/- and then press start would be easier to follow. I am not sure that the charge in the battery would last long enough for inflating more than one flat tyre - depends on size of tyre. Quite noisey in use.
Despite the number of "cons" the product is so much easier than the foot pump I wish I had bought it a long time ago.”
“Early days but first impressions are favourable. Pump is well made and compact. Although the pictoral user instructions could be better they make sense eventually. The hose was missing the sealing O ring which led to air escaping and tyre deflating. I wasn't aware it should have had one until a replacement arrived with one on. This replacement was quickly sent after a call to Ring. Fullmatks to their customer service dept. Pressure readout was just about accurate at the 35psi I used for my 205/55/16 tyres. I don't know what other retailers offer but the 60 day no quibble free return system available if you buy direct from Ring is a bonus, as is a discount.”
