“Everything sticks to this frypan.
This is a high quality well made pan but in my house it's relegated to steaks only and then outside.
I tried using it for pilaf and paella, risotto , polenta and schnitzel - everything stuck.
I actually bought this frypan for my morning eggs but unless I want them crunchy scrambled this is not the pan for the job.
I use a $15 no name non-stick pan from Woolworths for my eggs now and keep the Solidteknics for steaks on the side burner of the barbecue - less clean up than using the main plate (just put the hose on it).
It's solid enough to leave outside and I suspect it will outlast me but unless you are camping, hanging it for kitchen wall art or subduing burglars it may be too much pan for the part time home chef.”

Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback and for recognising the quality and build of your pan. We completely understand there’s often an adjustment period when moving from a plastic-coated “non-stick” pan to natural seasoned iron.
Achieving non-stick with seasoned iron is all about the right balance of heat and fats/oils. Our pans are highly conductive, so they need less heat than most are used to: medium is the new high! Too much heat too soon can cause food to stick. Some tips are:
• Warm your pan slowly on low–medium heat.
• Add your oil or fat once hot, then your ingredients.
• Let the pan release your food naturally before turning it.

“I like cooking with the pan and the fabulously easy clean up. The heat distributes beautifully across the base, lovely for even browning. I have only had the pan for a week but I am not sure I like the 'sharp' edge grip and length of the handle. I understand that there is reason for the length but I find the balance of the pan just a bit heavy in my hands with what I perceive to be a long handle with sharp edges. I have been using cast iron pans to cook with for all of my adult life, so I am thinking at this stage that perhaps it just just different and I will get used to the shape fo the handle.”
