While I like a lot of aspects of this bag, there are a few perplexing features that really don't meet my use cases. Basically, I'm an American and will be flying everywhere, whereas I feel like if I were taking trains between hostels in Europe this would be great. I also feel like the weight and lack of good lashing straps / points to strap things down wouldn't allow me to use it for outdoor backpacking or even more strenuous day hikes. Good: -The hanging closet is useful and squishes down small -The number and placement of pockets is great - It seems comfortable to wear -The camera cube fits perfectly and is very thoughtfully designed -The toiletries bag is nice, but seems to be missing some features that would be really helpful to me -The Laundry bag is designed to hang at the bottom of the hanging closet for a really nice system The bad: -Every piece is quite heavy for its size, particularly the hanging closet (though the pouch attachment system and the laundry bag also seem bulky and heavy). I feel like this is mostly the result of materials choices. Having heavy materials and very wide straps also takes up room in the bag. -The fact that the extra bottom piece doesn't close on the sides makes the overall pack have way less functional space than I was hoping. I have tropicfeel Calas and I'm not convinced they won't fall out. I also wouldn't feel safe storing my tech pouch in there, though that would be an obvious choice if the inside space is taken up and toiletries need to be available for inspection on the front. -The tech pouch itself is pretty useless - the elastic bands don't seem to have the right size openings for cables that aren't already pre-tied together (either really hard to squeeze them through or so wide they slip out) and the zipper doesn't go down the sides enough to easily pull the cords through - I feel like this should have been a clamshell with elastic looks on one site and a zippered pouch on the other. -There are elastic straps instead of adjustable straps on the bottom, which likely prevents a lot of potential uses and sort of makes the size of the thing that can attach dependant on the size of what's in the kangaroo pocket (adding a tent, a camp chair, trekking poles, and maybe even some sleeping pads / yoga mats depending on their size) -The toiletries pouch is nice but is really missing two things that would make it perfect for me - an elastic strap in the middle when unfolded so I could secure long stuff that I don't want in the "wet pouch" and some lash points on the bottom when unfolded where I could hang a facecloth or some shampoo bars in mesh bags to dry out.

I bought this because I was intrigued by the features such as the wardrobe. When I received it, I found it to be even better than anticipated. I love how well made it is and the attention to detail. I went away for several days and used just this. It worked great. I plan on getting a second one for my husband soon. Five stars!

Hey. Thank you!! Cape sounds like the perfect combination for Shell.
So far I love the Shell backpack by Tropicfeel. My only critique is the lack of padding on the shoulder straps. I wanted to take mine on an adventure right away so I took it out on a seven mile hike with about 7-10lbs weight in it. Everything else about the bag is so beautifully engineered that it was a disappointment to notice that the straps are quite thin and you feel the wear on your body over time. I'm sure the same thing will happen if I have the bag fully loaded and I'm walking through airports all day. Or out and about town with it. Something to think about for 2.0 I guess?

I love the color. The backpack is even nicer than I thought it was going to be. It feels so comfy and all the pockets are handy. Good function all around. Wish I could go on a trip this moment.
