I've been waiting for a product like this to be invented. I have three firearm safes in the house, all with biometric locks so only I can access the contents. This device is easy to set up, and very well designed. The lock releases in about 1 second after placing finger on the sensor, and an additional benefit is that there is no orientation or position dependence for finger placement; any orientation with the proper finger on the sensor pad will open the lock = perfect for quick access. Highly recommend this product for those who want to keep their firearms secured but quickly accessible.

I keep most of my guns in a locked safe, but for my home defense shotgun, I needed something to secure it, but still be usable quickly. This lock did the trick. I can grab the gun, get my finger on the reader and it drops off almost instantly and I'm on the trigger. Realistically about 3- 5 seconds from grab to fire ready. Fits very snugly and feels secure. Would recommend.

The reader does work well. But you have to squeeze the two pieces together a bit to allow the mechanism to unlock. You just need to remember to apply some pressure as you place your finger on the reader pad. It fits well. Very good product design and construction.

I struggled on what rating to give this product. I purchased this for my wife to on her carry pistol (Taurus G2C) in her purse. She wants to carry, but is terrified that our 3.5 year old will find it if she takes her eyes off her bag. The intended use was that she would be able to simply reach in, immediately read her fingerprint, this realising one side and then turn the pistol sideways on the draw. Which would drop the bulky end that goes through trigger guard. The idea did work. HOWEVER. The trigger guard is narrower than the polymer upper. So when this lock was snugged firmly enough to keep it from sliding around it caused tension on the mechanical party that releases the lock. So it would not release approximately 80-90% of the time. We also had some issues with it reading the finger print. Overall depending on what the use of it is I could recommend it. I hope this helps.
