This is my first 'real' smoker and I am impressed. This sucker is over 300lbs!! Nothing here is wimpy!! I did my first Boston Butt on the smoker last week and it was very good. I am a newbie and am trying different methods to be the 'best of the best'. This smoker will be the only one I will use from this day forward. Today I grilled up a T-Bone steak. And I used the Grill Grates. I upped the temps to 600 degrees. The T-Bone came out FABLULOUS!!! Actually, it cooked faster than I expected, and the sear marks were way better than I expected. I have been using Weber Gas Grill for many years and way satisfied with the results, but the Yoder smoker kicks ass...BRAVO YODER!!

I did a lot of research before buying this smoker. What I found is that no one offers the quality that this grill provides. It is pricey, but after actually assembling the grill it was apparent that it is well made. The sheer thickness of the metal and attention to detail in making this grill to last makes it well worth the money. I have not fired it up yet due to the weather but all the information and reviews I have read instill confidence that it will operate flawlessly. I was very happy to see that a few of features that were once optional are now standard such as the second shelf, the reinforced diffuser plate is thick and reinforced. In reading the previous reviews, it appears a lot of people had to purchase these items as upgrades. Overall, very satisfied. You have to see the quality to really appreciate it. This pellet grill is an investment and by appearances, if you maintain it, it will last a lifetime. No fancy paint and gimmicks, just a well built grill which will be serviceable for years to come.

I wasted alot of time and money on "cheap" pellet smokers that couldn't hold a set temperature for anything. I received my YS640 this week, and think my friends are tired of my enthusiasm (they say bragging) for this grill. The wi-fi and app are incredible. Everything I have cooked has come out excellent because of this thing. Set the temperature, and once it settles in, it "flatlines" Absolutely perfect!!

Had grill for 3 weeks cooked a turkey for Christmas and also a beef tenderloin. Family loved them both had family members asking me to cook them a tenderloin for there birthday.

This thing is AWESOME! Have no regrets, other than I don't know why I didn't buy this sooner. This pit is built like a tank and it cooks wonderfully. From A to Z this is the best Pit ever built.

just received my new YS-640 two weeks ago and I absolutely love it. The shipping process and delivery was just as described. The delivery guy unloaded it off the truck, and wheeled the pallet into my garage. Everything was perfect. I am very impressed with the build quality...this thing is a tank. So far have smoked ribs and a brisket, and grilled chicken breasts. The grill heats up much faster than I expected. Temperature holds very steady over the long cooks. I love having the built in probe ports. Still figuring out and tweaking the baffle to control different cooking zones. Only negative thing I say is it can be difficult to manouver in tight quarters because it's so heavy and only the small caster wheels turn. So if you need to move your smoker around a lot, consider the comp cart.

After owning this grill for six months I can honestly say I don't regret my purchase. I was waiting for low temp weather to really test this grill and i must be honest i was very surprised. I grilled 400 degrees with the outside temp at 38 degrees and the grill came up to temp within 20 minutes. Last night I started a brisket in 31 degree weather cooking at 225. No problem at all, and I haven't use a thermal jacket. We have done every thing from low and slow to baking and just have been amazed at outcome. Got a couple of more tests that i want to do, but six months, it's great. Stop thinking about it, stop worrying about the price, and prepare to make some great wood fire food.
