I bought a drinks fridge from Appliances Direct. It arrived quite quickly and their delivery driver was great, he unpacked the fridge & put it where we wanted (we had paid extra for this service) and took the packaging away. However the fridge proved to be faulty. Although it was recording a temperature of 5C our thermometer showed a temperature of 8-10C. Appliances Direct asked us to send photographic evidence, which we did. They then agreed to pick up the faulty fridge up & then provide a replacement. After some discussion they agreed to provide the new fridge & pick up the faulty one in one operation, so we could use the packaging from the new fridge to pack up the faulty one.
This is where things got tricky. For this delivery they used DPD. Unfortunately the fridge didn’t arrive as promised - it turns out that DPD had lost it between 2 of its depots.
Appliances Direct were great when I rang to tell them what had happened. They immediately said they would recall the missing fridge and sent us a new one straight away. Unfortunately when that one arrived the glass in its door was shattered! Again Appliances Direct were great - they sent a new one the next day which arrived in perfect condition and is working as it should.
