I bought an Aether Cone Bluetooth speaker from Appliances Direct. It was advertised as the best speaker ever! The price was around £30 which was a huge reduction from the original price of over £300. I received it and it did not work. No matter what Bluetooth item I tried to connect it with it just didn't connect. It looks fantastic. But it doesn't work. I contacted Appliances Direct by email and the reply stated, "We've received your message. We'll get back to you within the next ten days." Nobody got back to me so I mailed again. Appliances Direct replied informing me to "contact the Manufacturer as it was their problem". UK Law doesn't work like that at all. It is the responsibility of the Supplier, not the Manufacturer. I emailed once again and informed them of UK Law and sent it to their Managing Director... Appliances Direct replied almost immediately telling me they have just refunded the cost of the item to my PayPal account as well as instructing me to dispose of the item as I wish. They do not require me to return it to them. This resolution was most satisfactory to me but, why didn't they refund me or even answer me sooner?
