Since our Brand New Hotpoint HU61 was delivered and installed by a professional gas engineer, we are experiencing problems. The burners take time to come on and the gas blows out. Simply the cooker isn't functioning the way a cooker should function. Its a complete nightmare! Have been in touch with Appliances Direct and Hotpoint. Raised a complaint to high level. Engineer came out once and done quick fix and problem started as soon as he left. Another engineer coming out again but taking weeks. The only reply and dispute I receive from both Appliances Direct&Hotpoint, is that they cannot find a fault. Is that why the burners don't come on and if they do come, blow out instantly. Complete misery and a complete nuisance. This cooker is in a stainless steel finish and the top part is showing signs of wear already like dark brown burnt marks despite my wife covering with foil. The burners and all parts are cheap and nasty. Not the old robust cooker. Cheap China product. My very honest opinion, DO NOT BUY FROM APPLIANCES DIRECT AS THERE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ABSOLUTELY APPALLING!!! Being swapping me about for two months. No straight answer. Extremely expensive to call as 0871 number. A carry on and a game which their staff probably enjoy. So unprofessional indeed! When you call you need to wait an hour, not a surprise. When on hold, you hear some depressing and annoying music to add to your grief.Secondly, DO NOT BUY CHEAP NASTY CHINA MANUFACTURED HOTPOINT PRODUCTS. I paid £440 and still a heap of rubbish.
