Dishonest company and staff
I bought a dishwasher from Appliances Direct. I pay £20 extra for the company remove old dishwasher. The day before delivery, I didn’t receive a confirmation email to confirm the delivery, so I had to call the company helpline to confirm by myself. The staff confirmed it and also told me the delivery person will collect the old dishwasher. On the delivery day, the delivery guy called me 15 minutes before arriving in the morning (not 30 minutes as the help line staff told, which is not a big issue). When I asked the delivery guy “shall I take down the old one?”, He said “no, there will be another van collecting all the old appliances around 4-5pm in the afternoon”. When the guy delivered the new dishwasher to the ground floor, I asked him again if he was going to take the old one, he said no. I also asked where shall I put the old dishwasher, he pointed a space next to the main door of building, and said “don’t worry, the guy collecting old appliance will find it, there is one appliance to be collected in this area”. I was so naïve to trust him. By 6pm, the old one is still outside, by next day 11pm in the evening, the old one is still sitting outside. At least, one of the stuffs was lying. Mostly likely the delivery guy, he probably lied on both sides: told company the customer didn’t put the old machine outside so he cannot collect the old one, and told customer there would be another one to collect the old one... I just don’t know benefits he had for these lies, saving him carry a dishwasher walking 10 meter between build door to his van? If a company’s staff could manipulate system, that means the company’s internal control has big problems. This is my first order from Appliances Direct and will definitely will be the last one.
