I’ve been paying $60/month for Verizon’s Mobile Protect plan through Asurion, thinking repairs would be simple and local. That was a lie. I spent over three hours trying to get a back screen fixed, including 90 minutes on the phone with Asurion. Even though a local U Break I Fix had the part in stock, they forced me to mail in my phone and go without it for 5 business days. When I pushed back, they pointed to hidden fine print saying they only have to offer one option—even if a better one exists. Total bait-and-switch. Then, when I tried to cancel, they told me they “don’t deal with billing,” so I had to call Verizon just to cancel. Verizon now has to run a full investigation before I might get refunded. This is one of the most deceptive, rigid, and frustrating services I’ve ever dealt with. Avoid them if you value your time or sanity.
