Before buying a new phone, I called to confirm I could keep my number. I then called 3 times to make sure my number would transfer to my new phone/contract. First three times I was told "it'll be fine, it just takes time". When it still hadn't happened, I called again, only to be told that it would not be fine and I could not keep my number. At which point I am locked into a 24 month contract. No apologies, just annoyance at my frustration.
